He is in the process of completing my Graduate Studies in Education and is an Adjunct professor at Manor College in Jenkintown.
"When counseling, I try to make sure I am personalizing my recommendations to the best of my ability. Everyone is an individual and has different needs. I emphasis educating my clients with the most accurate science based information, setting realistic goals, and formulating a road map to guide them to their goals. Many times simply providing information to people does not ensure success. As a Dietitian, I feel it is equally important to motivate, coach, and support my clients along the way."- John Rickards

ABOUT REGISTERED DIETITIANS (RD's)
All Registered Dietitians are credentialed by the Commission of Dietetic Registration. The R.D. after a name represents a trademark assuring that the person has completed a baccalaureate degree in food and nutrition, completed a dietetic internship of 900 practice hours, and passed a national registration examination in food science, clinical nutrition, food service management, infection standards, education and communication, and community nutrition. An R.D. must also take continuing education classes to keep their credentials.
All Registered Dietitians ARE nutritionists, however a nutritionist is NOT a Registered Dietitian. In New Jersey, there is no licensing for nutritionists yet, and ANYONE can call themselves a nutritionist and have little formal training and/or education. However, Pennsylvania requires a license to practice and is only available to RD's, as a Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN).
